What are the fees associated with California Private Teachers?
The fees for placement services are a non-refundable retainer fee of $3,000. The total commission for this service is 15% of the negotiated yearly salary amount of the private teacher. This amount is to be paid in full from the family and not deducted from the salary of the teacher. This is a one-time service commission and secures ongoing support throughout the school year.

Do California Private Teachers offer placement services in other states?
Yes, placement services are offered nationwide. 

Are the private teachers employed full-time or part-time?
The private teacher will be employed on either a full-time or part-time basis by the family for the duration of the school year.

What is the compensation for a private teacher?
The private teacher's compensation is the family's financial responsibility. The salary of a private teacher is comparable to the average yearly income of a private teacher in the family’s local area.

How are private teachers compensated?
California Private Teachers has partnered with GTM Payroll Services. GTM is a premier payroll agency that can handle private teacher compensation and tax reporting for families.

Is there an Employment Agreement?
If you decide to move forward in hiring a private teacher, we will draft an Employment Agreement outlining the specific job duties and expectations for both the private teacher and family for the following school year.

What is the schedule and calendar for the school year?
The academic calendar and schedule for the school year will be determined by the family.

Will the private teachers travel with our family?
Private teachers are willing to travel with the family while creating dynamic immersive learning experiences for the children.

Are private teachers employed long-term (>1 year)?
Employment Agreements are drafted for the duration of a school year. The family reserves the option to renew the Employment Agreement, if the private teacher agrees to the renewal. It is common that a private teacher will support the ongoing academic needs of a family beyond the first year.

Is a curriculum provided by California Private Teachers?
The curriculum is designed and tailored to the needs of the students. This is often a collaborative effort between the parents, education consultant, and private teacher.

Are private teachers employed by California Private Teachers?
No. The private teacher's compensation is the family's financial responsibility. If compensated through a domestic payroll service, the private teacher is then considered a W2 employee of the family. 

Are there benefits offered with private teaching?
There is no guarantee for additional benefits to be offered to private teachers. 

If previously hired through California Private Teachers, is there a guarantee for future placement?
After applying with California Private Teachers, applicants will continue to be notified of future opportunities within the local area. There are no guarantees when it comes to future placement, but you will be able to apply internally for any positions of interest.  

Is housing provided or are there live-in positions?
Every position is unique to the family. Some positions may offer housing, but not all. Details of whether or not housing is provided will be mentioned within the job posting.
